Why Our Natural Tick Bug and Mosquito Spray?
What you put on your body matters! Your skin is the largest organ. Some of the bug sprays on the market include toxins that are outlawed in other countries... yet are legal here in the US! Just what are the long-term health consequences. We don't know and why take the chance.
Our Port Royal Plants Natural Tick Bug and Mosquito spray has a hemp variety with terpenes that are natural bug repellants. We then add chrysanthemum flower extract from plants grown in our greenhouse that act as a natural pyrethremum. Essential oils are added for the perfect repellant! Hunters, hikers, and outdoor enthusiast rave about our products!
Prevention from what? We created our spray not just for prevention of itchy irritating bug bites, but certain diseases that can impact yours and mine health for years. Some of these illnesses are carried by ticks and chiggers. By now, no doubt you have heard of Lyme disease. But have you heard of alpha gal which is prevalent in southern states and throughout Appalachia.
One of our family members was diagnosed with Alpha-gal syndrome- a type of food allergy- three years ago and life has never been the same. Alpha gal makes people allergic to red meat and other products made from mammals. The condition usually begins with the bite from a tick. The bite transfers a sugar molecule called alpha-gal into the body. It causes mild to severe allergic reactions to red meat, such as beef, pork or lamb. It also can cause reactions to other foods that come from mammals, such as dairy products or gelatins. Most cases of alpha-gal syndrome are reported in the south, east and central United States.
Why are we so passionate? One of us was diagnosed with alpha gal from a tick bite three years ago. It's a difficult challenge and has affected our day to day eating and exposure to restaurant and even fumes in the air.
Deer are also carrying the tick and other bugs to new parts of the country. Some people may have alpha-gal syndrome and do not know it. The average delay in diagnosis is 7 years. Meanwhile, these individuals are very sick and DO NOT KNOW WHY. There are people who have serious allergic reactions, with a delayed response up to 3 to 5 hours after exposure. That's why it can be difficult to diagnose.
There's no treatment other than avoiding red meat and other products made from mammals (there are so many things you would never think of being made with animal products!).
